The terms that apply when you use rentacarzone.com, reserve a vehicle or rent a car from Rent a Car Zone.

Welcome to Rent a Car Zone, operated by SERMED TRADING LTD. (“Rent a Car Zone”, “we”, “us”, “our” or the “Company”).

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of rentacarzone.com, your vehicle reservation and, where applicable, the car rental services provided by SERMED TRADING LTD.

By using our website, submitting a reservation request, confirming a booking or entering into a rental agreement with us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.

1. About Us

Rent a Car Zone is operated by:

We provide vehicle rental and related services in North Cyprus, including vehicle delivery and collection at selected locations.

2. Making a Reservation

A reservation may be requested through our website or through other authorised Rent a Car Zone communication channels.

When making a reservation, you must provide accurate and complete information, including your:

• Name
• Contact information
• Rental dates and times
• Pick-up and return locations
• Driver information
• Flight details where airport delivery is requested
• Any other information reasonably required to process the booking

Providing false, misleading or incomplete information may result in a reservation being refused or cancelled.

Submission of a booking request does not necessarily constitute final acceptance of the reservation.

A reservation is considered confirmed when Rent a Car Zone confirms the booking or otherwise communicates acceptance to the customer.

3. Vehicle Availability

All vehicle reservations are subject to availability.

We will make reasonable efforts to provide the vehicle model selected at the time of booking. However, circumstances outside our reasonable control—including accidents, mechanical problems, delayed returns or operational issues—may occasionally make a particular vehicle unavailable.

Where this happens, we may offer a suitable alternative vehicle.

Unless expressly guaranteed in writing, a reservation relates to the booked vehicle or an appropriate alternative rather than an absolute guarantee of a specific registration number, colour or individual vehicle.

4. Driver Requirements

Every person who will drive the rental vehicle must:

• Hold a valid driving licence accepted for driving in North Cyprus
• Meet the applicable minimum age and licence-holding requirements
• Provide valid identification where requested
• Be named and authorised in the Rental Agreement
• Comply with all applicable driving laws and rental conditions

Driver eligibility requirements may vary depending on vehicle category, insurance requirements or other relevant circumstances.

The applicable requirements will be confirmed during the booking or rental process.

Rent a Car Zone reserves the right to refuse to provide a vehicle where a driver does not meet the required conditions or cannot provide satisfactory documentation.

5. Required Documents

At or before vehicle collection, the main driver and any additional driver may be required to provide:

• A valid driving licence
• Passport or valid identification document
• Reservation information
• Any additional documentation reasonably required for identification, insurance or legal purposes

Original documents may be requested.

Failure to provide the required documentation may result in the vehicle not being released.

6. Rental Period

The rental period begins on the date and time stated in the Rental Agreement and ends when the vehicle is returned to Rent a Car Zone at the agreed location, date and time.

The customer must return the vehicle on time.

If you wish to extend your rental, you must contact Rent a Car Zone and receive approval before the original rental period expires.

An extension is subject to:

• Vehicle availability
• Payment of any additional rental charges
• Continued validity of applicable insurance and rental conditions
• Confirmation by Rent a Car Zone

Keeping a vehicle beyond the agreed return time without authorisation may result in additional charges and may affect the terms applicable to the rental.

7. Rental Price

The price communicated when your reservation is confirmed is based on the information supplied at the time of booking.

The total rental price may depend on factors including:

• Rental period
• Vehicle category
• Pick-up and return locations
• Additional services
• Optional equipment
• Additional drivers
• Delivery arrangements
• Extensions
• Applicable charges resulting from the use of the vehicle

Any optional or additional charges should be communicated before they are accepted whenever reasonably possible.

8. No Deposit

Where a booking is expressly offered by Rent a Car Zone as a no-deposit rental, no standard rental security deposit will be required for that booking.

The customer may remain responsible, where applicable, for matters including:

• Damage not covered by insurance
• Insurance exclusions
• Negligent or prohibited use
• Lost keys
• Lost or damaged equipment
• Incorrect fuel
• Traffic fines
• Parking charges
• Towing or recovery resulting from misuse
• Damage caused by an unauthorised driver
• Other amounts properly due under the Rental Agreement

No-deposit rental should therefore not be interpreted as unlimited liability protection.

9. Payment

Rental charges must be paid using a payment method accepted by Rent a Car Zone.

Depending on the booking, payment may be made:

• During the reservation process
• Before vehicle delivery
• At vehicle collection or delivery
• As otherwise agreed and confirmed by Rent a Car Zone

The customer is responsible for ensuring that payments are made when due.

Additional charges arising during or after the rental may be payable separately.

10. Insurance

Rental vehicles are insured in accordance with applicable requirements and the insurance arrangements applying to the vehicle.

The precise insurance cover, exclusions, excess or customer liability applicable to a particular rental may be stated in the Rental Agreement or associated rental documentation.

References on our website to “Full Insurance” mean the insurance/protection package offered with the relevant Rent a Car Zone rental. They should not be interpreted as covering every possible event without exception.

Insurance or protection may be invalidated or restricted in circumstances including, where applicable:

• Driving by an unauthorised person
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Reckless, dangerous or unlawful driving
• Deliberate damage
• Serious negligence
• Use of the vehicle for prohibited purposes
• Failure to follow accident-reporting procedures
• Providing false information
• Using the vehicle outside permitted geographical areas
• Breaching material terms of the Rental Agreement

Customers should review the insurance conditions provided with their Rental Agreement.

11. Authorised Drivers

Only persons specifically authorised and recorded in the Rental Agreement may drive the vehicle.

The customer must not allow any other person to drive the rental vehicle without prior approval from Rent a Car Zone.

Allowing an unauthorised person to drive may affect insurance coverage and may make the customer responsible for resulting loss, damage or costs.

12. Use of the Vehicle

The vehicle must be used responsibly, lawfully and in accordance with the Rental Agreement.

The vehicle must not be used:

• For racing, speed testing or competitions
• For driver training
• For towing unless specifically authorised
• For transporting illegal goods
• For any unlawful purpose
• By a person under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• By an unauthorised driver
• In a reckless or deliberately damaging manner
• On roads or terrain clearly unsuitable for normal use of the vehicle
• For commercial passenger transport unless specifically authorised
• Outside authorised geographical areas without prior permission

The customer must take reasonable care of the vehicle throughout the rental.

13. Driving in North Cyprus

Traffic in North Cyprus drives on the left-hand side of the road.

The driver is responsible for complying with all applicable:

• Traffic laws
• Speed limits
• Parking regulations
• Road signs
• Seat-belt requirements
• Mobile-phone restrictions
• Drink-driving laws
• Other road-safety regulations

The customer is responsible for becoming familiar with local driving requirements before using the vehicle.

14. Geographical Restrictions and Border Crossing

A Rent a Car Zone vehicle may only be used in geographical areas permitted by the Rental Agreement and applicable insurance.

If you intend to travel outside the normal permitted rental area, you must contact Rent a Car Zone in advance and obtain confirmation.

Insurance coverage may not apply outside authorised areas.

15. Fuel

The vehicle should be returned with the fuel level required under the applicable Rental Agreement.

The fuel policy applicable to your booking will be communicated when the vehicle is supplied.

Where the vehicle is returned with less fuel than required, the customer may be charged for the missing fuel and any applicable refuelling costs.

The customer is responsible for using the correct type of fuel.

Costs arising from putting incorrect fuel into the vehicle may be charged to the customer.

16. Mileage

Where your booking includes unlimited mileage, you may use the vehicle without a standard kilometre limit during the agreed rental period, subject to reasonable and lawful use of the vehicle.

Unlimited mileage does not permit prohibited, commercial, abusive or otherwise unauthorised use.

If a particular vehicle or rental has a mileage restriction, this will be communicated before or at the time of rental.

17. Vehicle Condition

The vehicle will be supplied in a condition considered suitable for rental.

The customer should inspect the vehicle at collection or delivery and notify Rent a Car Zone promptly of any significant existing damage that has not already been recorded.

The vehicle may be photographed or otherwise documented at delivery and return for the purpose of recording its condition.

The customer must take reasonable care of:

• The vehicle
• Tyres and wheels
• Windows and mirrors
• Interior
• Keys
• Documents
• Accessories and equipment supplied with the vehicle

18. Accidents, Damage and Breakdown

In the event of an accident, damage, breakdown, theft or other significant incident, the customer must contact Rent a Car Zone as soon as reasonably possible.

The customer must follow the instructions provided by Rent a Car Zone and, where required:

• Contact the police or relevant authorities
• Obtain an official report
• Record details of other vehicles and drivers involved
• Take photographs where safe to do so
• Provide accurate information about the incident
• Avoid admitting liability on behalf of Rent a Car Zone or its insurer

Failure to follow required accident procedures may affect insurance coverage.

Customers should not arrange substantial repairs to the vehicle without authorisation from Rent a Car Zone except where urgently necessary for safety and expressly permitted.

19. Roadside Assistance

Where roadside assistance is included with the rental, Rent a Car Zone will provide or arrange reasonable assistance for covered vehicle problems.

Roadside assistance does not necessarily mean that all recovery or repair costs are free.

Costs may remain the customer’s responsibility where the incident results from misuse or customer error, including circumstances such as:

• Lost or damaged keys
• Incorrect fuel
• Running out of fuel
• Unauthorised use
• Negligence
• Damage caused by ignoring warning lights or obvious mechanical problems

The applicable circumstances will depend on the Rental Agreement and the cause of the incident.

20. Traffic and Parking Fines

The customer is responsible for traffic offences, parking violations and similar charges arising from use of the vehicle during the rental period.

Where Rent a Car Zone receives a fine or official request relating to the customer’s rental period, we may provide relevant renter information to the competent authority where legally required or permitted.

The customer may also be responsible for reasonable administrative costs associated with processing such matters where provided for in the Rental Agreement.

21. Lost Keys and Documents

The customer is responsible for keeping the vehicle keys and documents secure.

Loss or damage to keys, remote controls, vehicle documents or supplied equipment may result in charges reflecting reasonable replacement, programming, recovery or associated costs.

22. Smoking and Vehicle Cleanliness

Customers are expected to return vehicles in a reasonably clean condition.

Where smoking is prohibited in the vehicle, the customer and passengers must comply with that restriction.

Exceptional cleaning costs may be charged where a vehicle is returned requiring specialist cleaning because of circumstances beyond normal rental use.

23. Vehicle Delivery and Collection

Rent a Car Zone may provide delivery and collection at locations including Ercan Airport, hotels, accommodation or other agreed locations.

Delivery availability depends on:

• Location
• Rental dates
• Time
• Operational availability
• Advance notice

Where free Ercan Airport delivery is included with a qualifying booking, the customer will not be charged the standard delivery fee for that service.

Customers requesting airport delivery should provide accurate flight information and notify us of significant changes or delays where possible.

24. Delayed Flights

Where flight information has been provided, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate genuine flight delays affecting an airport vehicle delivery.

Customers should notify Rent a Car Zone as soon as possible if their flight number, arrival date or arrival time changes.

Significant delays, missed flights or changes extending beyond the original booking arrangements may require revised delivery arrangements.

25. Cancellations and No-Shows

Cancellation conditions may depend on the booking type, payment arrangements and notice provided.

Any cancellation terms communicated during the booking process form part of the reservation.

Where a separate Cancellation Policy is published on rentacarzone.com, that policy should be read together with these Terms & Conditions.

Failure to arrive, provide required documents or contact us within a reasonable period may be treated as a no-show.

26. Early Returns

If a customer chooses to return the vehicle earlier than the confirmed return date, any refund for unused rental time will depend on the conditions of the booking and Rental Agreement.

An early return does not automatically create a right to a refund.

27. Personal Belongings

Customers are responsible for personal belongings left inside or transported in the rental vehicle.

Rent a Car Zone is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

If an item is found in a returned vehicle, we will make reasonable efforts to identify or contact the owner where practical.

28. Website Use

Rentacarzone.com is provided to help customers:

• Search for rental vehicles
• View vehicle information
• Make reservation requests
• Learn about our services
• Contact Rent a Car Zone
• Access travel and rental information

You must not:

• Attempt unauthorised access to the website or its systems
• Introduce malicious software
• Interfere with website operation
• Scrape or systematically extract protected website data without permission
• Use the website fraudulently
• Submit false reservations
• Misuse booking, pricing or availability systems

We may restrict access where misuse or security risks are identified.

29. Website Information and Pricing Errors

We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and current.

However, occasional technical, typographical, pricing or availability errors may occur.

An obvious website error does not create an entitlement to a vehicle or service at an clearly incorrect price.

If a material error affects a booking, we will contact the customer and provide appropriate options, which may include correcting the booking or allowing cancellation.

30. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the Rent a Car Zone name, branding, website design, graphics, photographs, text, software and other original website materials belong to SERMED TRADING LTD. or are used with appropriate permission.

They may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, republished or commercially exploited without permission except where permitted by law.

31. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website may contain links to or integrations with third-party services such as payment providers, maps, analytics services, communication platforms or social networks.

Those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Rent a Car Zone is not responsible for the content or operation of independent third-party websites.

32. Personal Data

Personal information collected in connection with the website, reservations and rentals is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Customers should read the Privacy Policy together with these Terms & Conditions.

33. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

Subject to applicable law, Rent a Car Zone will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

The customer remains responsible for losses, costs or liabilities arising from their breach of the Rental Agreement, unlawful use, negligence or other circumstances for which the customer is responsible under applicable law and the rental conditions.

34. Force Majeure

Rent a Car Zone will not be responsible for failure or delay in providing services where caused by circumstances reasonably beyond our control.

Such circumstances may include severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, road closures, civil disturbances, strikes, utility failures, major transport disruption or other exceptional events.

Where possible, we will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative arrangement.

35. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions and rental services provided by SERMED TRADING LTD. are governed by the applicable laws of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts and authorities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, subject to any mandatory legal rights that may apply.

36. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, rental practices, website functionality or legal requirements.

The version applicable to a reservation will generally be the version in effect when the booking was confirmed, except where a change is required by law.

The latest website version will display its Last Updated date.
